Privacy Policy

Flickers has no accounts of mine, no login of mine and no server of mine. I run no backend and I receive no data about you at all. What leaves your device goes to Apple and to Google, under their own policies, and is described below.
What is stored on your device
Your collection, sparks, best scores, achievements, daily mission progress and settings are stored in your device's own app storage. Deleting the app deletes them. “Reset save” in Settings does the same without uninstalling.
iCloud sync
So that your collection follows you between your own devices, that same save is also written to Apple's iCloud key-value store under your Apple Account. It is roughly two kilobytes of game state — which creatures you own, your scores, your settings. It contains no name, no email address and nothing you have typed.
This is handled entirely by Apple and stored in your own iCloud, not mine. I cannot read it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, or iCloud Drive is switched off, sync simply does not happen and the game works exactly as before from the local save.
Game Center
If you sign in to Game Center, your scores are submitted to Apple's leaderboards and shown publicly under the Game Center nickname you chose. Declining the sign-in costs you nothing but the global boards — every other feature, including the in-app score list, works identically. Apple's handling of Game Center data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Advertising
Flickers shows ads through Google AdMob. To do that, Google's SDK collects information from your device, which by Google's own disclosure includes:
- Device and advertising identifiers
- Coarse location (derived from your IP address, not GPS)
- Ad interaction and performance data
- Diagnostic and crash data
This is collected and used by Google, not by me — I never receive it. Google's handling of it is covered by Google's Privacy & Terms.
Buying the Remove Ads upgrade stops all ads, and with them the Google advertising SDK's collection.
Your choice about personalised ads
On iOS you will be asked whether Flickers may track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. Declining changes nothing about the game. You still get every feature, the same rewards and the same ads — they are simply not personalised.
In the UK and EEA you will also see a consent form before any ad loads, and you can change that choice later from Settings.
Purchases
Spark packs and the Remove Ads upgrade are processed entirely by Apple's In-App Purchase system. I never see your card details, billing address or Apple Account. All the app receives is Apple's confirmation that a purchase completed, so it can be delivered. Restoring purchases on a new device asks Apple what you already own.
What I do not do
- No analytics SDK of my own
- No email address or name is ever collected by the app
- No data is sold, and none is shared with data brokers
- No contacts, photos, microphone, camera or precise location access
Children
Flickers is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it.
